I am always amazed that solutions and ideas are sought after the fact. Since the mid-70s, I have traveled to Glen Arbor area and always enjoyed spending an afternoon browsing shops and enjoying the tranquility of a Northern village. Those days are long over and my last trip to Glen Arbor in 2012 was my last trip–I battled overcrowded sidewalks, a long wait at Arts for an overpriced lunch, and a general feeling of stress and sadness. Who remembers the days of browsing in the Harbor Light Shop, meandering down the main drag, and enjoying a decent meal at a fair price? Those days are over and I do not hesitate to share my views with residents and visitors alike regarding the tragedy of Glen Arbor–a village that has sold out to the highest bidder. As a year round resident, I take visitors and myself to other villages to enjoy an Up North experience–which is no longer available in overcrowded, over promoted, Glen Arbor.
