Surprising and yet expected, these photos provoke both awe at the immense power of nature and deep sorrow that the trees’ strength was no match. The loss of so much of the forest’s canopies deserves the sorrow and I keep wondering how the birds, animals, and insects cannot tell their stories of what it was like to be a part of this storm.
