Comment on When your teenage daughter wants in on Victoria’s Secret by Sarah

I’m 16 but I started shopping at pink/vs when I was 12. When I first went in there I was ashamed. Everyone buys underware. I only bought a sports bra that my mom approved of. My best friend and I developed a lot faster than the other girls in our class, so we needed more in the support section. My mom was skeptical at first. The thing is, I never asked for a push up bra or any lacy thongs. My mom even lets me go alone sometimes with a friend. When I was reading through the articles, I realized a lot of mothers don’t trust their daughters. My mom knows that I would never do anything scandalous. I wear the underware there because it gives me more confidence. At the age of 12, girls were asking why I was wearing a sports bra because it gave me “uni-boob” I get some mothers concerns but the controversy is “my mom won’t let me wear a push-up bra but I have more confidence when my boobs look bigger” or “I have major pantie lines that I’m ashamed of and my mom won’t let me wear a thong” and personally, I don’t wear any of the panties with full lace or slogans because it makes me uncomfortable so why would a mother, whose supposed to support and expect the best of her daughter, think right off the bat that she would wear something like that?
