We were there last weekend. We went to the beach on Sunday and heard it was an almost record day on the river….so we decided to hit the river in canoes with our 3 young kiddos very early on Tuesday. It was so peaceful and serene, much better than an afternoon venture. We enjoyed playing and fishing off of the sand bar at loon lake and didn’t see any glass, thankfully. I highly recommend Riverside, they really made our trip an adventure to last a lifetime but I would NEVER go on a busy weekend afternoon. The early bird catches the worm. We DID see someone driving 100 (yes a millen or less) in a BMW at Pierce Stocking Drive so he could get to the dune faster. And, yes, we called the police.
