John Volk,
Concerning your point about risk, what are your thoughts on the broken Enbridge pipeline that badly polluted and damaged the Kalamazoo River? Was there not a similar risk to that of Line 5 that it would fail? Concerning global climate change. The people not certain that it is caused by man-produced pollution are the ones not paying attention to the science or who do not believe the science, because the science is clear. Lower heating costs? Have you looked at the price tag on cooling in parts of the US that are experiencing intolerable heat? And where does the water go from the melting ice packs – maybe the streets of New York, Boston, Miami etc? I’m afraid that it is you that is providing a badly skewed and naive assessment of the risk of the Line 5 to our Great Lakes and the greater issue of the effects of man-produced pollution.
