Comment on Enbridge: Why Michiganders should trust us with pipeline by John Volk

It is always welcome to hear the other side of an issue. Much like everything else, the public is under informed on this issue. Both sides have agendas behind their positions which is OK, as long as they are not hidden. It is also good to remember that Enbridge employees, including management, are humans like us and have the same concerns and reasons to care about the issue. I would much rather take the word of informed, experts than an emotionally-driven private citizen.

If the public wants the line shut down, regardless of the stewardship of Enbright, then let the public shoulder the cost of providing an alternative. Let the WWF lead a fundraising drive to do that.

Go to the Internet and search for U.S. pipeline maps. It is a real eye-opener, particularly when you consider how much oil and gas passes through them daily.

Lastly, I wonder how many people with those “shut down” signs in their yards have a propane tank there as well and a car (s) and boats.would they also complain about shortages and higher prices?
