I don’t live anywhere near the beach, but I totally agree with the landowners. If I owned land along Lake Michigan, I would do just as someone mentioned- deposit the biggest boulders I could afford along the edges of my property line extending into the water.
I love to walk the beach, but there are MILES AND MILES of public beach that we can use, and people have no right to go tromping through someone else’s property!
I actually ran across this article because I was searching for private beach front land owners in SW Michigan, as my fiancé and I want to have a very small, intimate, evening beach reception after our church wedding. Seeing that there are such rude people really annoys me. It is due to these rude people that I am highly unlikely to be able to find anyone who would feel comfortable having people using their private beach for such an event. Shame, shame!
