I have been a weekender in Michigan all my life. I cannot afford to live ON the water. I have a modest cottage inland and have 2 boats.
I have walked the waters of Southwest Michigan for years and never plan on stopping. You can yell at me all you want. I will continue stopping and resting on your beach (not in the water) where my feet might touch the water to cool off. Go ahead and call the police. I will not be intimidated. I do not leave “doggie poop” or trash on your beach. But I do enjoy the solitude.
The waters of Lake Michigan are there for all of us to enjoy. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO OWN THE BEACH! This is not a country where the RICH can only enjoy the coastline is it? That’s what my family escaped long ago. They were called Bolsheviks.
