Comment on From celebration to sinister by Gregory Murphey

In light of the Larry Nasser trial in Detroit, it is necessary to revisit the Bill Bricked saga once again.
The facts of his total guilt as a notorious sexual predator of boys were well established in my father’s time. As early as 1970 or thereabouts, my dad was on the village board in Winnetka, and was disgusted that the Bricker matter was repeatedly hushed-up.
His many victims, which included one of my best boyhood friends, were known among the boys who were exposed to him.
He was, as most predators of children are, a bully and a coward.
His actions over decades until he was exposed clearly illustrate this.
Whatever his service actually was or not, his later constant despicable acts as an adult responsible for children negate any possible honor from this service.
To imply there is still ” reasonable ” doubt surrounding the facts amounts to a sort of continuing complicity on the part of your paper. Keeping any positive memory of Bill is a tragedy.
Please be a bit more sensitive to the truth which dozens of the living will bear the rest of their lives.
Sincerely,

Greg Murphey
