If the sheriff of Leelanau County believes everyone should be legal for the safety of the people as a whole, I believe he has made the best decision possible for the good of the people. There are many able-bodied citizens who can work harvests that last for a few weeks. Migrant workers, as fantastic as they are at speed (I’ve worked beside some) are not the deciding factor of a completion of harvest. Our county has a shortage of workers in every area of business and people need to step up to the plate and work together as a community to get the job done.
