This was an eye opening and somewhat disturbing story. Although many seem to think that ‘illegal’ immigrants are all ‘criminals’, why is it that most stories of arrests of these individuals are stories of people with families, established in their communities, contributing to their communities. Kids going to school, families going to Church, just like the rest of us. So what is so criminal about that? As for ‘they should have gotten their citizenship, or paperwork done’. It’s not as easy as you think. Especially for Hispanics. The system is against them, right down to nit picking punctuation on their forms. Why are we allowing this barbaric activity to happen to our own neighbors? I think it speaks more to the rest of us than it does to them. And this Sheriff? His comments were completely out of line. Our local law enforcement is there to protect all of it’s citizens….period.
