While it is true that the Lakeshore remains open the services and access that people commonly expect are not. It is a gross oversimplification to to say that the National Park is open. Please update the article to remind visitors that they need to pack out their own trash, be prepared to not have access to any bathrooms, carry enough water, etc.
Besides this is another opportunity to remind people to help support local business during the shutdown. Instead of packing a lunch for your hike stop in to one of the many excellent spots around the Dunes. I bet they’ll even guarantee to have their bathrooms unlocked for you.
