This project as currently proposed is an ecological, environmental, and aesthetic disaster in a location ill suited for anything other than what currently exists. If it is by some chance allowed to proceed the entire character of the whole of Glen Lake will be forever changed. While I have as yet no knowledge of the history of the Conor McCahill family vis a vis Glen Lake, it appears obvious that their idea of an appropriate use for this property doesn’t even come close to the sense and feelings most of the rest of us have for the area. His concept of “affordable housing” mixed in with the abominable “high end condos” is ridiculous in both cases. There are no “condos” of any sort on Glen Lake and we don’t need them now. Further his expressed need for affordable housing for “employees” has no basis due to the very short seasonal requirement. What will the occupiers do the rest of the year? As an 80 year Glen Laker and property owner who started renting flat bottomed plywood rowboats from Deck Seeberger’s “marina” in 1939, I recommend this project be stopped in its tracks with other options to get Don Lewis the money he needs for his retirement explored.
