Thank you to Governor Whitmer for her executive orders to limit non-essential activities around the state. I understand that it’s an inconvenience and a hardship for so many of us. Do those who oppose her understand that Michigan and Governor Whitmer are not some kind of isolated and unusual situation?
This is a GLOBAL pandemic with thousands of people dying worldwide, and many states and whole countries are shut down in an effort to control this virus! This is REAL. We in northern Michigan have been lucky to keep our numbers low so far and most of us up here don’t know anyone with Covid19. Ask your friends and family downstate about it and they will give you names of those who are suffering and dying right now.
Has it occurred to the non-believers that perhaps those low numbers in northern Michigan have some connection with the current executive order to stay home, social distance, don’t travel up north to your second home, don’t engage in non-essential activities?!
I guess it’s hard for some people to believe this is true, until their own family is hit. I don’t wish that on anyone – no matter your political persuasion. As for the Sheriff, I would hope that officers use some common sense for all matters of law. However enforcing the Governor’s mandates in an effort to protect all of us from harm seems like good common sense, as well as duty in the line of protection.
Please folks, let’s have some common sense and patience and show that we truly care about one another by following the rules.
