Comment on Versatile learning: Leelanau Essentials Bruce and Laura Hood by Michael Libby

Two stalwarts of the Leelanau School. I had the pleasure of working with both Laura and Bruce as the Art Teacher and a Dorm resident for 5 years. I had just returned from working in a boarding school in England and had recently moved back to Michigan. Bruce interviewed me for the job and I worked across the desk with my “partner in crime” and “everything else” that was happening in the art building with Laura. There was never a dull moment at the Leelauan School and Laura and Bruce both helped to guide me during my years at the school. They led by example as well as with compassion, laughter, sage advice, a passion for teaching, and all that is The Leelanau School.
When I look back I realize how lucky I was to be a part of such an amazing school community and to work with such a talented teaching staff, where it was all about the students and in such a beautiful and unique environment.
