I agree with Thomas, who’s reply to this text stream is succinct, respectful, and to the point. Folks who own beach front property paid a high price for that property, and most know how fortunate they are to have been able to do so. For the privilege, they also pay much higher taxes year after year, which benefit all those living in the community. There are also more costs associated with maintaining the beach and the integrity of that property from erosion – an action which benefits all who claim to love the lakes as much as they do.
And yes, recreational use of the lake and walking or jogging along the water’s edge are legally open for all of us to enjoy. Respect is the key, and many who’ve written their opinions here have shown very little of it for others, for their right of ownership or for their simple right to enjoy the privacy afforded most land/property owners.
Demonizing, denigrating, and name calling people you’ve never met, simply because they are fortunate enough to own land overlooking or on the water, is immature contempt, and clearly shows a general lack of any attempt at understanding of or for your fellow human beings. Who the h—- do you think you are to put down anyone, simply because they are able to own property that you yourself would probably gladly own if you could? I suspect that you’re likely the type who loudly leaves way more than footsteps as you walk the wonderful beaches of the clean blue waters of this great state.
