Comment on To pave or not to pave the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail? by Bill Moore

I will wade into this conversation with one indisputable fact.
The Heritage Trail will act as a heat sink and will heat the surface of the Earth if it is paved in asphalt. It will contribute to local climate change.

I will bet many of you here in support of paving this trail are some of the same folks who are concern about Global Warming. Ask yourself, have you ever had an opinion about big business taking profit over the environment…have you ever supported that opinion? Or is this venture more rooted in self interest with the use of words of passing it off as ” it will allow access” as the excuse?

Although the businesses in Glen Arbor are not huge they are big business for the area, are they guilty of taking profit over the environment?

What about the local farmers and growers and their concerns over local climate change…do they support a heat sink ?

I do not understand how some of you want it both ways….some would call it hypocrisy.

We as a community are either serious about Global Warming or we are not. We either lead by example or we contribute to the problem. We can not have it both ways
