John – the point is you criticized and were a bit condescending to these kids exercising their 1st Amendment rights and presumed things you don’t know. You say “Action without a point” is not good, yet you seemed to have missed the point. Most civil action is intended to raise awareness and that’s the point. They did that. The fact that they made the news and we’re discussing this here is proof of that.
I’m also curious why you would criticize the article for not containing “..any discussions about the causes of school violence or what students, faculty and community can do to address the root causes, only school safety.” The article was titled, “Local students call attention to gun violence in schools.” It was about the kids. It was about the these young men and woman, our future leaders, that put down their phones and computers and got out of their seats to say make a point. It was not about mental health policy, root causes of gun violence, or any of the issue you cited, so why would the article discuss these unrelated topics? Local and national media are covering these daily.
