No public input sought is a travesty. Our township leaders should have sought public input before spending almost $30,000.00 of taxpayer money. Is the presence of this sign for the greater good of the whole community, or just the business/downtown community? I think the latter. In these times, informing the community of something can be done through other means. If the sign stays, maybe the leaders can use it to inform the community of all their major financial decisions. I think there should be transparency in all governmental decisions and let the community get involved if they want to, or see the need to.
