Paid vacations for the staff. As always, Congress will include lost pay in the subsequent budget deal. While an inconvenience for some, I don’t think it will be so for many. It’s not exactly tourist season and local residents who are regularly active outside at this time of year hardly need the services normally provided.
Now if they could do something about the weather the last four months, that would be a different matter!
