Comment on He Lived by His Lights as Long as He Could: Requiem for Phil Thiel by Judith Cawhorn

Stephanie, Phil had been running through my mind for some reason the last several weeks and so this morning, I consulted Professor Google to see if I could find what he was up to these days. To my shock and dismay, I saw the obituary that told me he left the planet in March. I am so sorry that I didn’t see it earlier so that I could have made the memorial gathering in June.
The last time I saw him was many year ago when I stopped to visit him at the market and then later in the day at the abode he was living in with his wife at that time. My heart was heavy as I left because it was the first time I witnessed hos much of a physical decline he had made. Reading this brought me to tears.
Thank you for giving this gift to all of us who were touched by Phil’s life in some way. May you be well and have many more years to share your gifts with the world.
